Get Connected: The importance of family traditions

Family traditions bring families together and create powerful memories. What counts as a tradition, and how can we build better traditions for our kids?

ACTIVITY: Taped Toys

I don’t know what it is about tape that made these toys so interesting, but Marshall was diggin’ it! He hasn’t played with some of these toys in months, but I guess the work he put into taking them off of the cookie sheet made them super interesting all of the sudden. He crawled around holding them for a while after he’d already finished the activity. Too cute!

ACTIVITY: Cereal Sorting Mat

Sorting is such a beneficial cognitive development activity for toddlers and preschoolers because it first requires the child to identify objects and then classify those objects based on similarities and differences. A lot of wheels turning in the brain for something that seems so simple!
