FOR PARENTS

Get Connected: How Predictability Helps Children Function, with Sensory Expert Allison Davies

Predictability for your child is more than just a routine. Allison discusses how creating a predictable environment for your child can help mould their behaviour and brain function.

FOR KIDS

ACTIVITY: Egg and Spoon Race Ideas

Simple ideas to get kids moving are the best! Egg and spoon racing could not be simpler – all you need is a spoon and an egg. You can use a plastic egg or even a ping pong ball, but real eggs would most likely bring the biggest thrill (or you could try hard boiled!).

ACTIVITY: Printmaking with Lego Blocks

Printmaking is one of my favorite processes with kids because it’s just so simple and fun.  Since Lego comes in so many shapes and sizes they lend themselves perfectly to printmaking! This Lego craft is fun and prep work is slim since all you have to do is head over to the Lego bin and grab some black paint!

Get Active: Baby Shark

The classic nursery rhyme Baby Shark! Dance along with Bounce Patrol to the Baby Shark song. There are lots of actions to copy, so jump up and dance! Let’s explore the ocean with Baby Shark, Mommy Shark, Daddy Shark, Grandma Shark and Grandpa Shark. We might see some more sea animals too – like an octopus, jellyfish, seal and crab. Make the shark jaws with your hands and sing along

STORYTIME: Pete The Cat: I Love My White Shoes

Pete the Cat is such a wonderful book about keeping on. Here’s my interpretation of the song and story by Eric Litwin with the wonderful character of Pete and illustrations by James Dean.
